TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO – REVIEW OF POLICY AND LEGISLATION RELEVANT TO ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN THE CONTEXT OF CLIMATE CHANGE

Provided services of Team Leader (Climate Change Adaptation Specialist) together with Environmental Law Specialist, Environmental Policy and Institutions Specialist, Community Consultation Specialist to undertake the review of environmental laws, policies and institutional frameworks for environmental management and sustainable development in the context of climate change. 


Tasked to identify deficiencies in the existing legal and policy framework and draft legislation to strengthen the legal and institutional framework for climate change (adaptation and mitigation) management and disaster risk reduction in regards to the functions of the Environmental Management Authority which has the legal mandate for environmental management and sustainable development. 


Tasked to design the legal, institutional and operational structures to establish a national climate change trust fund that will facilitate direct access to international climate change financing under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), including through the Green Climate Fund and the Adaptation Fund. October 2014 to July 2015.
